OnePlus Nord CE 3 Review in 5 Points

OnePlus has launched its new Nord CE 3 phone that promises to deliver a significant, fast-refreshing display and speedy wired charging. It is a mid-range offering competing with phones like the Xiaomi Redmi Note 12 5G in 2023.

The OnePlus Nord CE 3 is a modest upgrade over the older Nord 2 Lite. It is smaller and lighter, but the new design looks more post-iPhone 12 than post-OnePlus 12. Nonetheless, it remains a good-looking device with plenty of style, a solid camera, and many features for its price.

Is it worth buying?

Ultimately, it comes down to how much you want the OnePlus Nord CE 3’s benefits. The main improvements over the previous model are a bigger, better screen, a faster processor, and more battery life. The cameras get more resolution and zoom, the software takes a year’s worth of updates, and the new UI looks much more polished.

A big plus is that the Nord CE 3 Lite does not suffer from bloatware issues plaguing other OnePlus handsets. The OS is lag-free, intuitive, and relatively straightforward to understand, even for an inexperienced user. The company has also committed to providing two years of major updates and three years of security upgrades for the handset.

Another strong point is the large 5,000mAh battery. It lasts a long time, charges quickly at 67W with the included OnePlus SuperVooc fast charger, and can easily power through an entire day of heavy usage. We were able to play video for nearly 22 hours before the phone ran out of juice.

It is not a record, but it is still impressive considering the more significant, higher-resolution screen and the more powerful Snapdragon 782G chipset. Even though the phone did not do very well in our video playback test, it should be able to last through most users’ daily workloads.

Overall, the OnePlus Nord CE 3 is an excellent option for a 5G-enabled budget smartphone. Its tall AMOLED 120Hz display, 50MP triple-camera setup, and near-stock Android experience are all attractive features for the price. The only issue is that the handset could have been more powerful and offered a slightly longer battery life. For those interested in the OnePlus Nord CE 3, it will be available in India on August 4. The 8GB + 128GB variant is priced at Rs 26,999, while the 12GB + 256GB variant has been tagged at Rs 28,999. Both variants will be sold through Amazon India and OnePlus’ online store. People can also avail up to Rs 2,000 off on the device through eligible bank transactions.
