Nubia is set to unveil its latest line of gaming-oriented smartphones later this month, and the company has already started teasing some of its key features. The company’s president, Ni Fei, shared in a Weibo post that the new series will have “great surprises” regarding design, performance, battery life, and screen technology.
The upcoming Red Magic 9 Pro series is said to succeed the Red Magic 8 Pro lineup unveiled in January this year. The upcoming devices are expected to bring considerable upgrades over the preceding phones, including an entirely flat back panel that eliminates the need for a camera bump. In addition, the cameras are arranged under the display for a notchless look. The phones will also have a built-in cooling system designed to dissipate heat swiftly for consistently high performance.
The Red Magic 9 Pro is expected to offer up to 24GB of RAM for a seamless and immersive gaming experience. The phone was recently spotted on the AnTuTu benchmark, scoring 2,290,773 points. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset powers the upcoming gaming powerhouse and has 1TB of UFS 4.0 flash storage. It will run on Android 14, ensuring that it will have access to the latest operating system features.
The Red Magic 9 Pro is also decked out with RGB lights as a nod to its gaming-centric design. The LEDs are positioned in the fans and behind the “09” number that depicts the phone’s series. The lights are a welcome touch that elevates the smartphone’s sleek aesthetic.
Aside from the impressive AnTuTu score, Red Magic 9 Pro is expected to feature a triple-camera setup capable of shooting 4K videos at 60fps. The camera module comprises a 50MP Samsung GN5 primary sensor, an 8MP ultrawide lens, and a 2MP macro camera. The phones will also come with 165W fast charging support.
Red Magic 9 Pro is rumored to have a high-resolution 5.5-inch AMOLED display. The device reportedly has BOE Q9+ panels with a touch sampling rate of 2000Hz, PWM dimming at 2,160Hz, and a local peak brightness of 1,600 nits. The panel also delivers improved color deviation, low-light display effects, and better screen smear performance.
The Red Magic 9 Pro series is slated to debut on November 23 in China. At launch, it is expected to be offered in three color options — Transparent Dark Night, Transparent Silver Wings, and Black Dragon. The phones will be available exclusively at Nubia’s online store and offline retailers. In addition to the flagship model, the company will launch a Red Magic 9 Lite and a cheaper Red Magic 9 Plus. Pricing of the former is unknown, while the latter has been tipped to be priced at around $400. For more details, stay tuned to GSMArena.
